For the third time in a week, a person was killed in a crash along the Ramona Expressway in the Nuevo area.

The crash sites were within a 1.7-mile stretch.

The latest fatal crash was reported just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, in the eastbound lanes near Lakeview Drive, according to California Highway Patrol reports.

The Riverside County Coroner’s office identified the man as Felipe Landeros, 52 of Nuevo. No other details were available as of Wednesday morning for the Lakeview crash.

Tuesday night’s crash comes one day after a 23-year-old Moreno Valley man was killed in a head-on crash along the expressway in Nuevo near Fifth Street.

Terrell Moore was driving a Ford Explorer west on Ramona Expressway when he was struck head-on by a stolen 2018 GMC Sierra driven by Joaquin Alvaradosantana, 29 of Nuevo, CHP officials said.

According to investigators,  Alvaradosantana was intoxicated. A woman and girl riding with Moore were hurt in the collision.

On Tuesday, June 5, Erik Rodriguez Santos, 33, of San Jacinto died when his 2018 Ford Escape drifted across the double-yellow lines of the Ramona Expressway near Hansen Avenue in Nuevo, striking a trailer being towed by an eastbound Ford F-250 pickup truck, officials said.

Santos’ vehicle then hit, head-on, a Dodge Charger traveling behind the truck and trailer.

The CHP is investigating all three fatal crashes.
